Packing checklist for a beach trip
My name is Mishana Sturdivant and I own Tad Bit Rad Travels. I’m a North Carolina-based travel blogger that enjoys sharing my personal experiences around the world as a black female solo traveler. I’m a Pisces, so I looooooove the water! Waking up to the waves crashing against the sand or eating the freshest seafood while watching the sunset are some of my favorite experiences. I visit the beach occasionally, so I’ve mastered the packing list for such a trip.
It doesn’t matter if you are the type to just lounge by the pool or beach, or if you rather plan an adventure out in the town, this packing list works for everyone.
Swimsuits and cover-ups is a no-brainer. Even if you don’t care to get into the water, pack swimsuits because they are considered an outfit for the day and they take up less space in your luggage.
Sun hats to protect your scalp, Sunglasses to protect your eyes, and sunscreen to protect your skin. Everyone needs sunscreen. I’m a black woman with dark skin and I wear 30-50 SPF sunscreen at all times.
Mosquito or bug repellent for tropical and humid regions.
First aid kit including ibuprofen, Benadryl (or something for upset stomach or allergic reactions), motion-sickness medicine, and aloe vera for sunburn. Beach vacations tend to be the most active vacations for me. I want to try street food, I want to zip-line, skydive, AND charter a boat. I recommend packing a remedy for anything.
A cute beach tote to carry all of your things. I like to pack for the day so that I’m not going back and forth to my accommodations.
Bring comfortable shoes such as sandals, flip flops, sneakers for outdoor activities, and water shoes for water activities.
Consider investing in your own water activity equipment. If you enjoy snorkeling, buy your own equipment. Most all-inclusive resorts and excursion tours provide the equipment, but you never know how well they clean and disinfect their equipment.
Portable Speaker (not pictured) Don’t you hate it when you and your group finally arrive at the destination and everyone forgot to bring a speaker? Yeah, don’t be that person. Pack a portable speaker that is waterproof and lightweight, like the one on my Amazon Storefront.
Don’t Forget the Usual Items!
